- 3 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 2/3 cup water
- 2 cup white rice soaked in water for at least 30 min. then drained
- 2 medium onion chopped
- 1 cup yellow lentiles washed and drained
- 1 teaspoon salt
- pinch ground pepper

In a pot over medium heat, put the oil then add the onion with salt and stir until it turns light brown then add black pepper

Add the rice ans stir it in for a minute then add the water and place the pot lid and bring to a boil then let cook on low heat for two minutes.

Stir in the yellow lentils and place the pot lid and let cook for 5-7 minutes

Serve with pickles, red onion slices and tomato cubes
