Barbecue Kofta

Ingredients

  • 500 gm beef ground with 100-200 gm fats
  • 2 tbsp bread crumbs
  • 2 medium onions finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon sodium bicarbonate

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, Add the salt to the finely chopped onion and let rest for 5 minutes then drain the onions to remove the extra water. Save the onion water for later use.

  2. In a large bowl, add the strained onion to the beef, pepper, sodium bicarbonate and bread crumbs. Mix well and refrigerate for 20 minutes.

  3. Shape the Kofta on skewers, brush the onion water all over it then cook in a preheated oven  at 230 C for 20-55 minutes or grill until cooked through
