Easy Smoked Herring Salad

Ingredients
  • 250 gm smoked herring fillet cut into bite-size pieces = 2 fish
  • 2 medium chili pepper optional- chopped
  • 1 medium tomato chopped
  • 1 medium red onion sliced
  • 1 medium carrot grated
  • 1 scallion chopped
  • 1 medium green bell pepper chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 cup yogurt =100 gm
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh thyme
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, mix the tahini with water, vinegar, olive oil, lemon juice, yogurt, thyme and paprika. Stir until they form a smooth mixture.

  2. Add the vegetables and mix very well then add the smoked herring pieces  

  3. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving
